*Woher kommst du?* / *Woher kommen Sie?* asks origin — answer with *Ich komme aus …* + country/city (*aus* + dative). *Wo wohnen Sie?* asks where someone lives (*in* + place). *Was ist Ihr Beruf?* asks for a job; you can answer *Ich bin …* + profession. *Ich lerne seit einem Monat Deutsch* uses *seit* + dative for “for/since” a time period.
